Thanks for visiting my site! Here are a few things to help you get to know me better:

 

I'm a creative who believes that people do read the words, so it’s important to have the right ones in the right places. 

​

I’ve had the opportunity to lead content design for apps and websites, create email marketing content, write features for newspapers and magazines, develop B2C, B2B, and SAAS content, and to lead teams and manage direct reports.

​

I currently live in Ohio, am decidedly a dog person, and I love the NY Times crossword and a really bad (good?) pun. I also love the movie Top Gun. Hey, we all have our things.

What I'm up to now

I'm the Senior Content Design Manager for Root Inc, a FinTech startup that recently had its IPO. As the first UX Writer for the company in 2017, I had the privilege of writing all of the copy for the Root Insurance app, informing content design for the web and app, establishing the product's voice and tone, onboarding the new UX Writers, and creating the company's content design guidelines. I now lead the discipline and content design team at Root, updating and socializing our guidelines, advocating for and implementing human-centered solutions, establishing clear, inclusive, and legally compliant language for the products, and being the go-to person across the business for, "how do we say that, again?"

In my time at Root, I also led the web content rebrand and the migration of over 100 pages into our first content management system, and I wrote the parent company website. I've led the Product Marketing Creative team, overseeing copy for our B2C email marketing campaigns and our B2B Enterprise content while creating and implementing processes for workflows with our strategic partners. I also have had the privilege of managing our amazing web content and UX writers.
